How does it work?

We will call you between 12 to 24 hours before the pick-up time. The designated driver will pick up and deliver the vehicle on the dates scheduled, uncontrollable delays permitting.


How early should I place my order?

One to two weeks should be given for shipment.

This ensures that we can schedule a carrier within your time-frame. However, last-minute shipments are not impossible. We will do our best to accomodate you and what you need.


How much time does shipping take?

Several factors influence the shipping time of your vehicle.

These include the travel distance, the schedule of other cars being shipped on the same truck (if applicable), weather, traffic conditions, and the distance of the pick-up/drop-off locations to major highways. East to west coast trips typically take approximately 7 to 14 days. Midwest to east/west coast trips are approximately 5 to 8 days. From the south to the north is approximately 5 to 8 days. These shipping times are rough estimates, and you should not base important decisions based on them without contacting us first.


How is my vehicle transported?

Angels' customers get to choose between open or enclosed carriers. However, our preference is always for enclosed transport, as they offer a much higher level of vehicle protection, security, and service. The vehicle does not necessarily have to be in running condition to load. It can also be loaded with a winch.

Whether open or enclosed carrier, the overall length of the truck is approximately 80 feet long. This size must be taken into account when setting up a delivery location since maneuvering the truck is difficult in tight locations. 


Why does truck/SUV shipment cost more than a regular car?

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight that a truck can legally carry.

This is why there is a small price difference (between $50.00 and $100.00) for a regular truck or SUV.


What should I do if my vehicle is damaged in transit?

The first thing you should do is to make sure the driver understands that the damage is new and was not on the original bill of lading.

The damage should clearly be marked and noted, then signed for by the driver. Upon completion of delivery, a call should placed to your carrier or broker (i.e. Angels Moving Autos) to inform them of the damage. In most cases, the carrier will ask for an estimate and send you payment in a couple weeks. If the carrier is not responsive and unwilling to work with you to resolve the issue, make sure you contact their insurance company and make a claim. Be sure, however, that you have all the documentation to back up your claim. False claims can result in legal action by the carrier or agent.


What is the "pick-up window"?

The "pick-up window" is a reference to the time surrounding your pick-up date.

For instance, some shippers may have a 14-day window. In that case, they can pick up your vehicle anywhere between 7 days before and 7 days after your pick-up date. Beware of lower priced carriers who do not specify their pick-up dates. You may receive an outstanding price, but you may not see your vehicle for 4 or 5 weeks. It is very important to make sure the transporter you use can get your vehicle within a reasonable time frame.


What kind of insurance do the carriers use?

Most carriers hold one million dollars combined single limit and two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per incident.

This insurance covers damage done to your vehicle in transit. The auto transport carrier is the main and only coverage. Personal contents of the automobile are not covered by the carrier's insurance, and the vehicle will not be covered if it is lost, damaged, or stolen.
